Is It Okay That I Said No To My Neice?
My neice Alica is 19 years old and had a baby. She had a huge baby shower and got tons of diapers and clothes. I've never seen someone get so much. The baby shower lasted for hours because of all the presents she had to unwrap. But she called me up and asked to borrow $20 so she could buy diapers and ciggarretts. I gave it to her last month and she paid me back. But she asked me again this month and this time I said "No." I told her that she could go to the pregnancy center and get free diapers. Because I use to work there and they have an attic full of baby stuff that they give away for free. And she said, "No because they don't have ciggarretts." I think it's sick that she's using her baby as an excuse to get ciggarretts. She almost got kicked out of her apartment for not being able to pay the rent when her Sex Offender boy friend had to move out. So her mom tried asking me to come up with the rent money. I didn't do it. But she got one of the neighbours to room mate with her so she can afford rent now. But anyways, I have helped me family in the past. Like, I took my sister's cat to the vet when she couldn't afford it. But my family has a bad habit of asking me for money to buy ciggarretts and I'm tired of it. I do not smoke myself and I consider smoking a sin. So knowing that it's against my beliefs they still ask me. Anyways, do you think it's okay that I said "No." this times? She should figure out what's important to her. Smoking or the baby.
