Your improvement may be taken into consideration because colleges understand that not everyone does well their first year. Keep in mind, however, that college admission is more competitive than ever. Even with your improvement you may not get into the school of your choice if it is very selective. It sounds like you are a really good student though, you shouldn't have much of a problem.
