Im 22 and I have no qualifications. how do I find a job?

I'm 22 male in michigan usa. I live around a few fast food joints and party stores and resturaunts. ive put in aps but i never hear back from them . Im not sure what I have to do to get a job but I need one soon or I wont have any where to live. help please? are there good days and bad days to job hunt? is there a good and bad time of the day ? should you call back a week later? is it inappropriate to walk in and ask to talk to the manager? any advice would be appreciated.
