Where to buy Caramel for Caramel Apples?

I know people use regular caramel candy squares and melt it, but is there another way? I have to do about 1k apples, is there already liquid caramel that will harden to the apple after being left out for a few hours? I really can't unwrap so much caramel, but I will for the kids :p
