I dont understand what the flower has to do with the werewolf ?

In this show i watched a boy and his werewolf friend dig in the ground to find a dead wolf and then he saw a Decent looking flower around an abolish looking place, like everything around them was dead but that flower, and then when the boy pulled the flower out it unwrapped from a circle around the werewolf and then the wolf turned into a dead girl, how do you explain this ????
