I would like to send a package to a friend as a prank. After he unwraps the box (maybe the size of a large shoebox) there will be a standard sized football--but it can be a junior size ball if necessary. My question is: how much compressed helium needs to be forced into the football so that the ball will float up, out of his hands and stick on the ceiling (assuming he opens package indoors!)?? Is a football too heavy? Some engineers or physicists ought to know the answer, yes?
